Parc André Malraux

Parc André Malraux

Designed by the landscape architect Jacques Sgard and developed between 1970 and 1978, the departmental park is located in the heart of the town of Nanterre. With a surface area of 25 hectares, this landscaped park is composed of gentle hills with winding paths. Vast spaces are entirely accessible: lawns, playgrounds, tree plantations, a pond and a canal; a flower garden and a plant garden are included. The park is bordered by buildings, notably by Jacques Kalisz's terraced buildings to the north and Émile Aillaud's cloud towers to the south. Thus, no clear cut separates the park from the surrounding buildings.

This park is a true haven of peace and greenery in the middle of the towers and buildings of La Défense. Visitors can stroll along the tree-lined paths, sit on the lawns or admire the contemporary artworks that dot the park. Children can also enjoy the park's playground and mini-farm. The André Malraux Park is a must-see for all those who are looking for a bit of calm and nature in the middle of the bustle of La Défense.
