The Ampère e+ and City Défense buildings form a discreet ensemble within the district. Separated by a central alleyway, the two buildings differ from each other by their shape: one is on a triangular plan while the other is set at right angles. Their identical façades meet the requirement to change the shape of the buildings in order to improve working conditions and reduce energy consumption. As for the alternation of white panels and reflective glass, it creates a bichromy that evolves according to the colour of the sky.

Putting the user back at the heart of the real estate project, in his or her place of life or work is Sogeprom's ambition when restructuring the building, which sees Ampère e+ as a real positive energy laboratory. For example, it integrates new, innovative and connected technological tools such as smartphone controls, service management (room reservation, meetings, RIE, etc.) or technical functions for offices (air conditioning, lighting, etc.).

Ampere e+, for which work began in 2015, was delivered at the end of 2016 and integrates :

  • 14,200 sq.m. of new-generation office space,
  • 200 parking spaces including 30 for electric vehicles,
  • an R.I.E. and a cafeteria open to a garden.

Its floors have an average surface area of 1,200 sq.m. over 9 floors and it meets the HQE excellent level, BREEAM Very Good level and BBC Effinergie Rénovation labels.

A word about the architects

The Saubot agency was born from the association of Roger Saubot (1931-1999) with François Jullien in 1964. The two architects specialized in the construction of high-rise commercial buildings and collaborated with many international firms, most of them American. In 1985, they designed the Bouygues Construction head office in Guyancourt, in partnership with Kevin Roche and John Dinkeloo.

Associated with the famous Skidmore, Owings and Merrill agency, they participated in 1964 in the Fiat Tower project (which became the Areva Tower in 1979). They then established themselves as the architects of La Défense and were involved in 11 projects, ensuring the transition to more energy-efficient and better-lit buildings (Total Coupole, France Télécom, Veritas offices, etc.).

Roger Saubot and François Jullien then continued their career working for the Disney Festival at Eurodisney in 1992 and the American Center - now the Cinémathèque Française.
