On the south bank of the esplanade, in the midst of the revival of La Défense, the Opus 12 tower has been rebuilt on itself and has a new appearance. Instead of the groin-shaped posts that designed the façade, a lighter and more panoramic load-bearing structure has been installed. The floors have been widened in favour of the work tops. The technical equipment is adapted to contemporary requirements. Wrapped in a double wall of clear and pearly glass, it takes on a new meaning. The vast and high hall opens resolutely onto the esplanade and the tower's infrastructure, whose anchorage it reveals.

A word about the architects

Denis Valode (1946) and Jean Pistre (1951) founded their agency in 1977. In 20 years, it becomes one of the most important in France. One of its successes was the reconstruction of the Lainé warehouses in Bordeaux and the construction of the L'Oréal factory in Aulnay-sous-Bois. Today, the two architects are particularly involved in the design of towers - in Saint-Denis, Lyon, Beijing and Bombay - and sustainable development. At La Défense, they are carrying out seven operations, including the Leonardo da Vinci university centre, Opus 12 and Engie B.
