The Enfants sans Cancer City race returns to Paris La Défense on May 30, 2024 !

The Enfants sans Cancer City solidarity race, organized by the Imagine for Margo association fighting childhood cancer, returns for its 5th edition in the heart of Paris La Défense on May 30, 2024.

Since 2018, the Imagine for Margo association has organized the Enfants sans Cancer City race at Paris La Défense, to mobilize companies and individuals in and around the Paris business district.

Routes and program

3 courses are available, to run alone or as part of a team :

• 5 km walk ;
• 5 km run ;
• 10 km run.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the following program :

• 11 a.m. : opening of the village and start of entertainment, and number collection ;
• 12:30 pm : warm-up session with sports coaches ;
• 1pm : start of the race (5 or 10km) or walk (5km) ;
• 2pm : stretching session with sports coaches ;
• 2.10pm : prize-giving for the best collections, speeches, cheque presentation ;
• 3pm : end of event.

Why run ?

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children in France and Europe. 1 in 440 children develops cancer before the age of 15. Despite scientific advances in recent years, no treatment is yet available for 20% of children and teenagers suffering from cancer.

That's why Imagine for Margo is getting involved and organizing the Children without Cancer charity runs, a festive and convivial event that rallies people around the cause and raises donations for research, thanks to a unique model :

• Each participant undertakes to raise a minimum of €200 (€100 for minors/students) to validate their registration, by appealing to donors ;
• 100% of donations collected by participants are allocated to research, to fund programs enabling children with cancer to benefit from innovative and more effective treatments. Donations are tax-deductible.

Since 2018, the four editions organized in the region have been a success. They have brought together over 2,500 runners and 80 companies. In all, 579,000 euros raised have funded 3 research programs.

A godmother with a big heart

France's most decorated boxer in Europe and the world, Sarah Ourahmoune, joined Imagine for Margo in the fight against childhood cancer by becoming the race's godmother. In 2016, she hung up her gloves after winning the silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games. The sportswoman is part of the organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Imagine for Margo - Children without Cancer was founded in 2011 by the parents of Margo, who died of a brain tumor at the age of 14. For over 10 years, Imagine for Margo has been mobilizing, raising awareness and collecting donations to accelerate research into childhood cancer.
